I’m not ready to let go of summer just yet. I’m still basking in the warm temperatures, loose schedules, and dinners on the deck. Also, my family is still plugging away at our summer bucket list, so until that gets wrapped up I’m digging my heels in and holding on to summer for as long as possible!
One way I’m distracting myself is by having my own little blueberry season celebration. Last weekend my family went blueberry picking (an activity on our bucket list!) and now instead of focusing on back-to-school realities, I’m focused on everything blueberries! Below I share five ways I’m celebrating a late summer blueberry season.
-
Berry picking
The best way to celebrate berry season is to get out and pick berries from one of Vermont’s many local berry farms. Picking berries with your family is a great activity to wind down the final days of summer.
-
Baking
My enthusiasm for baking was rejuvenated after making this delicious blueberry cake last weekend, and I plan to continue my baking streak with blueberry muffins.
-
Beverages
Whether you want to imbibe with a blueberry mojito, or just relax with a tall glass of blueberry lemonade, there are a myriad of delicious blueberry beverages out there.
-
Blueberry Breakfast
Blueberries are the perfect breakfast accessory. Blueberry muffins and pancakes are the first blueberry breakfast ideas that come to mind, but they also make a great addition atop granola or oatmeal. If you are feeling adventurous check out this recipe for blueberry donuts. Swoon!

Jams
Just like blueberries, blueberry jam is a wonderful breakfast accompaniment. Spread on toast, an english muffin, or even scones. Also, homemade jams and jellies make a wonderful gift.
