We have not had family photos taken since the boys were about 4 weeks old. That certainly sounds a lot easier than getting two 16 month olds (with colds) to hold still or both look at a camera at the same time. I honestly did not have high hopes for our photo shoot to be at ALL enjoyable. Believe it or not – I will admit – I was wrong – we had a blast.
Tracy Iandoli of Iandoli Photography had us meet her at the Isham Family Farm in Williston for some outside pictures. The weather was beautiful so at least we had that going for us. The boys were not cooperating at first – very cranky – not wanting to sit still. We were able to get a few shots by the big tractor – the kids liked sitting on it and turning the wheel.
We walked across the street where there was a corn maze to take a few photos – that’s when the magic happened. Mike, at the farm, showed us there were 2 calves on “leashes” outside that the kids could pat. Clark started walking towards them rapidly and then just stopped with his mouth open. I have never seen him that elated before. They were able to pet the cows, the cows licked them, and we even let them sit on the cows. The photo opportunities were endless.
Next Mike called over some chickens – he literally made some kind of chicken noise and they all came running. Again, Clark and Dean were standing there with their mouths open. The chickens were eating little ears of corn (so was Clark at some points) and my boys were squealing with happiness. In the meantime, I was realizing I was afraid of being pecked by chickens . . . but I digress.
All this time – Tracy was just taking picture after picture. I honestly forgot at most points that she was there – it felt just like a family fun day – that somehow – was FUN! Tracy picked the perfect spot for the shoot – it was beautiful and interactive – which is really what they needed. I can only compare it to having a fantastic day with your family and then realizing you were so wrapped up you forgot to take pictures to post on Facebook – but we had Tracy – so it was all captured!
Tracy has always seemed to have her hand into something creative since she was little. Since becoming a mom, she has focused that creativity on those special “moments” of her son’s life through pictures she didn’t want herself, family, or friends to miss. She quickly learned how rewarding it was to be able to capture these same moments for others and hopes she can help them share there “moments” as well. This was her motivation for starting Iandoli Photography.
Tracy’s focus is on family centered, lifestyle photography that is fun and creative. She absolutely loves what she does and is currently book family sessions!
