Spring Break Staycation at Jay Peak!

1

{Disclaimer: We are working with Jay Peak to bring you this information.}

Spring is here (finally!) and my kids are getting restless! Nothing gives me more anxiety than a Spring Break with no plans. Nine days home, with nothing to do but bicker? No thanks! My kids need to get their energy out, and there’s no way I’m going to leave it to Mother Nature to provide anything more than mud this time of year.

No need to fear! Jay Peak is here!

You can get away for a night (or two!) or even just for the day with the awesome packages available at Jay Peak Resort

From The Pumphouse, to the Ice Arena, to skiing (yes, there is still skiing at Jay!) to all of the places to eat (and yes, parents, to drink!) there is plenty to do. Maybe Mom can even sneak away for some spa time while the kids head off to Jaycare!

Yes, you read that right, there is free daycare for on-property guests, as well as private sitters for hire!

If you are looking for a day trip, a visit to the Jay Peak Pump House is the perfect destination. The warmth of the air and the sound of the splashing water erases the sting of Winter’s cold and the mess of Spring’s mud. Pull out the bathing suits and don’t worry about sunscreen! Our kids love playing basketball in the pool, floating in the lazy river, and of course, the water slides! The parents love the kid-free hot tub and perfect margaritas served at The Drink, the bar that overlooks the Pump House. We all know Vermont isn’t a tropical paradise, but for a few moments, I could almost imagine we were on a tropical vacation.

drinkWhat to know before you go: Be sure to order your tickets online. The only way to guarantee access (other than visiting on a lodging package) is to purchase in advance, online. Also, be prepared to buy lunch, as no outside food and drink is allowed. But don’t worry, there are plenty of delicious, affordable options to get you through the day! The lazy river is calling you, don’t resist it!

If you are looking for a longer local getaway, we highly recommend staying a night or two. Once the kids have worn themselves out at the Pumphouse, there is nothing sweeter than cuddling up in a comfy hotel bed. There are plenty of lodging options to choose from at Jay Peak Resort, but we suggest staying at Hotel Jay which boasts multi-room suites that are perfect for a family and offer direct access to the Pump House. The rooms are fresh and clean with plenty of space for everyone, and most have fully equipped kitchens, unlimited WIFI, HD flat screen TVs and beautiful views. Downstairs, you will find plenty of spots for hanging out, including a family arcade and a Family Room where you can watch tv and just relax.
