Stoweflake Mountain Resort and Spa!
If you are planning a trip to Stowe for the just the weekend, or a longer vacation, a girls night, a guys getaway, or want to escape somewhere to take care of yourself for the day – we can’t say enough about Stoweflake. We are partial (for sure) but spend one night at Stoweflake and you will understand. Stoweflake offers the modern take on family-friendly. OH WAIT – did you say hot air balloons?!?
You can take a short walk from your room to the spa, to the pool (imagine this: pool, hot air balloons floating above, and cocktails!) and back again all in the comfort of your own plush robe. The Burlington VT Moms Blog Team had a luxurious writers retreat at Stoweflake and then took full advantage of the cozy robes to explore all the spa offers. We loved having so many options to choose from at the spa – but we all agreed that the Aqua Solarium featuring a hydrotherapy waterfall and the Hungarian Mineral Soaking Pool were our favorite. The sounds and the view encapsulate you in bliss, making this the perfect escape. We started our stay as a team… but I did steal away for some quiet time and 15 minutes in the Aqua Solarium felt like hours of me time. We also loved the outdoor pool because there’s not much prettier than Vermont views. It’s hard to top a pool with mountain views in a pastoral setting that offers bites and cocktail service.
Spa time – where to start: If you’re like me and it’s been a while since you enjoyed a day at the spa, then may I suggest this handy schedule in the spa brochure. It’s like paint by numbers, so you can relax, don’t over think it, and maximize your day at the Stoweflake Spa. What made the top of my list: Eucalyptus Oil Wrap and Massage, Beyond Botox Facial, Scalp Treatment at the Salon, and the Aromatherapy mani/pedi. My favorite, Stoweflake Spa Day Package did not disappoint! This includes the use of the spa for the day including a 50-minute well-being massage AND a 50-minute custom facial. Apologies for no pictures – I went into the day with a goal of being 100% unplugged. Wow, was it bliss! I have only scratched the surface of all that is available at Stoweflake. The next time I go, I will absolutely take advantage of the Custom Spa Party package… stay tuned!
Mountain Views, Award Winning Spa, Golf, Skiing, Hot Air Balloons & Beer – Oh My!
Reminder—spa days are not just for women! Guys have loads of options as well. The Gentleman’s Day Package is a no-brainer for the guy who wants to show up and make no decisions (insert appropriate emoji). Depending on when you plan to visit, maybe your guy will start the day with a quick 9 or a half day on the slopes, either way, he will be sure to get the best of the day enjoying a custom gentleman’s facial, 50-minute Stoweman body treatment, and a 50-minute executive stress reliever. Maybe grownups can steal away for a quick stop at The Alchemist for some of their award winning brews, and that’s a day any dad – or mom would enjoy!
Mom and dad have been taken care of, and now it’s time for some fun family time! Grab the kids and head to the outdoor pool, or maybe kick the ball around to build up your appetite! Then head over to Charlie B’s – a Stowe family favorite! When we say kid and family friendly – we mean it! We’re not talking a 4 choice, nothing special kids menu. Kids have over 13 choices on their own menu from BBQ chicken pizza, to corn dog and fries, to BBQ ribs! I have to say that I loved the Truffle Cake and I know my kids would adore the Waffle Short Stack with whipped cream and strawberries. But if this is truly a family vacation, you can’t miss the chance to tour at Ben & Jerry’s in Waterbury. Not a bad way to end any day!
While visiting Stowe, BVTMB would be remiss if we did not tell you some of our other favorite stops and shops! I never miss a chance to visit the Shelburne Country Store. Seriously, this place has it all and the buyer/owner has an amazing eye for unique products. Cross the street and head over to the Stowe Mercantile and Boutique. Warning: TAKE-YOUR-TIME! This place has everything that Vermont artisans make and it is all incredible. Grab a coffee at Cafe on Main then head upstairs to The Boutique for one of a kind women’s apparel, jewelry, and accessories. I have never left empty handed. The staff is amazing and always keep my 9 year-old daughter busy while I browse. Your last stop for the afternoon or on your way out of town is Laughing Moon Chocolates. Handcrafted, local, unique and perfectly tasty chocolate treats. So many to choose from but we highly suggest the Dark Chocolate Cardamom Bar and the Chocolate & Caramel Covered Apple with Nuts – you’re welcome!
I was blown away by Stoweflake! Can’t wait to go back. I know your post showcases how it’s great for families but I think we’ll go without kids next time haha!
