I love traditions, especially around the holidays. Last year we started doing advent bags. In each bag there contains a scripture and a small activity to do for the day. We had such a good time doing them last year and are enjoying the count down again this year.
Well, I’ve found another one that I’d like to share with you all. I’m so excited about this one I hope you’ll be able to share it with your families as well. I bring you…
The Christmas Eve Box
It’s simple really.
1. You get a box!
2. In this year’s box I’ve included a cozy pair of fleece jammies, a holiday t-shirt, 2 Christmas books, a holiday movie (I may regret my Home Alone choice this year) and some snacks.
You can add anything to it but the purpose is to create a nice cozy Christmas Eve atmosphere. So whatever that means to you then add it.
3. Tag it to open on Christmas Eve at sunset
4. Place it under the tree.
And that’s it! How about you? Any new traditions out there worth sharing this year? Please pass them on so I can add more to next year’s arsenal.
Have you heard of the Christmas Pickle? (http://www.pomnitz.net/fr.htm#lc/traditions/xmas_pickle2.htm) It’s origin is somewhat controversial, but our family still has fun with it! 🙂
Kathleen, my old roomate used to do the Christmas Pickle. I think I found it more entertaining than she did.
