Topnotch Resort and Spa: Rest and Relaxation for the Weary Momma

4

It’s been a busy summer for the Sutphen household. Between adding a baby to the family, living in the newborn haze, and a jam packed schedule at my husband’s work, we have had little time to just “be” together. So when Topnotch Resort and Spa offered for my husband and I to come check out the “New Topnotch”, I jumped at the chance! We left our two year old at a friend’s house, packed up our four month old and what seemed like an insane amount of luggage for a one night trip (adding children to the mix will do that) and we headed to Stowe for a “back to us” break.

Topnotch has just completed a recent 15 million dollar renovation and the results are stunning. Tucked away off Mountain Rd. in Stowe, this resort is a true gem with its sweeping mountain views, attentive staff, and incredible amenities.

My husband and I took advantage of the indoor pool and spa since it was a bit chilly and rainy while we were there.

While we were able to catch some glimpses of the mountain views from inside, the most stunning views are seen from their outdoor pool area. Lounging by their pool includes soaking in the stunning landscape that is Vermont!

We also had a chance to dine at one of their restaurants, Flannel. We had some amazing desserts the night that we arrived and a delicious breakfast the next morning, all while being able to take in those stunning mountain views!

I was also able to enjoy a little pampering at their spa when I got a spa pedicure. Let me tell you, a 5o minute pedicure is like pure heaven to a weary momma. Pure. Heaven. And after my pedicure I got to let my toes dry while sipping on some infused water and sampling some treats. Pure. Heaven.

There is so much more we wish we could have experienced! Topnotch has it all; tennis courts, fitness classes, hikes and day trips. I guess I will just have to tell my hubby that we NEED to go back for a longer stay next time 😉

So what makes Topnotch Resort and Spa stand out? It’s their attention to detail. Everywhere you turn there is beauty around you. They have truly anticipated your needs so you are never found wanting. They listen, they observe, and they respond. Every staff member we came in contact with smiled and asked us how our stay was going. Everyone. From the person at the font desk, to the maid in the hallway that was cleaning rooms.

So if you all haven’t been convinced at the amazingness of this place, I will leave you with an experience that we had at their restaurant, Flannel. My husband ordered coffee with his dessert and when it arrived he was super excited to discover that they served their sugar on a stick called a swizzel stick. Amazing. We were commenting the the waitress how cool this was and how excited my husband was to consume this sugar on a stick and the manager must have overheard. As we were eating our desserts he walked by our table and dropped an extra swizzel stick onto my husbands coffee saucer. Needless to say I had one happy husband on my hands!
