At Lochearn, every girl feels welcomed from the moment she arrives. Our strong attention to creating a camp-wide culture where girls are kind, friendly, and inclusive assures there are no cliques. Instead, we foster a positive environment where it’s “Cool to be Kind.”

Campers live in cozy, lakeside cabins for 4-8 girls with one or two qualified, child-centered counselors who guide her experience, helping her to grow in independence while learning social skills such as being a good friend and choosing friends who will also serve her well. Our community of 190 campers provides a close family atmosphere where all girls and staff know each other.

We offer 4-week traditional sessions which have been the heart and soul of Lochearn for almost a century.  Girls choose from over 40 activities, the focus of which are to have fun, be safe and improve skills.  Coaches and instructors promote positive attitudes, legitimate effort and good sportsmanship to help girls build internal strength and good-hearted perspective toward winning and losing.

The Vermont Youth Orchestra Association

Discovery Strings is a new day camp for young string players entering grades 1 – 5 with one year of playing experience, and offers chamber orchestra experience in a camp setting. This half-day camp includes ensemble rehearsals, sectional coachings, and fun camp activities at the beautiful Elley-Long Music Center, home of the Vermont Youth Orchestra Association.  The week culminates with a lunchtime concert for families and friends.  Camp runs August 3-7, 2015 from 8:30 am to noon; tuition is $175 and financial aid is available.

Gonzos HD Sports Summer Junior Camps will be a lot of fun for kids ages 7-15. The kids will have the whole place to themselves Monday thru Friday from 9-3pm to play inside and outside doing all sports activities, including shooting pool, playing ping pong, shuffleboard and foosball. Using real sports equipment , the kids can play all their favorite sports using the 8 HD Simulators. Lunch will be served daily along with snacks and drinks, and movies can be played daily on our 15 foot by 10 foot HD screens.
