Presenting…Mommy Makeovers :: CLOSED

77

It’s our 1 year Blog-iversary!  Can you believe it?  We’ve had an amazing year and couldn’t be more pleased with what we’ve done, who we’ve met, and the fun we’ve had.  We’ve thrown events and given away a lot of stuff!  I mean a lot of stuff!!!  But today I’m pleased to announce, no I’m thrilled to announce that, in honor of our 1 year anniversary, we’re giving away a Mommy Makeover.

What is that you say?  Details please?  Why, yes, I’d love to tell you more about what we’ve got in store for you.

One lucky lady will win a day of pampering by some of our favorite Burlington hotspots.

TootsiesMiniSpa

The day will start at Tootsies Mini Spa.  Have you been to Tootsies yet…you should!  From the moment you walk in, the space is warm and inviting with friendly smiles all around.  The service is impecable and the pedicures are amazing!  They’ve been voted best manicure/pedicure by Seven Days 5 years in a row so you know you are in hands you can trust.  There our winner will be one of the first to receive a facial from their new REN skincare line.  REN’s philosophy can be summed up in 3 words: performance, purity and pleasure.  With groundbreaking product formulas, they use only 100% plant and mineral derived compounds mixed with pleasing fragrances to provide you with a relaxing yet invigorating experience.  Next up from Tootsies is a Deluxe Spa Manicure.  What makes it deluxe?  Try an almond cuticle treatment, sugar scrub and warm paraffin dip.  Perfect for hands that are starting to dry out with the changing weather.

Ecco

Then it’s off to Ecco Clothing Boutique on Church Street.  Ecco is a beautiful little boutique on the corner of Bank and Church Streets downtown.  They are giving a $50 gift certificate to our winner to get herself a little something special.  Whether it be a pair of shoes, a new fall sweater, or a dainty necklace, Ecco is sure to have something that catches your eye that you simply must have.

Boloco140x150

At this point our winner is probably getting hungry for some lunch.  One of our Church Street favs, Boloco, is offering our lady a free burrito and fountain drink to satisfy any hunger pangs she might have.

Indigo

It’s the final stretch and our winner will be off to Indigo Salon.  Indigo is located on Battery Street but overlooks beautiful Lake Champlain.  And when I say overlook, I mean it!  They have a huge bank of windows that stretch the length of their salon so while you get your hair done you have the most absolutely stunning view.  I love Indigo for several different reasons.  They are professional, all of their stylists are well educated and follow the latest styles and trends to bring you the exact hairstyle you want.  They are friendly, from the receptionist to your stylist to management, everyone has a smile and is kind.  They are a one-stop shop, they kind of do it all.  Haircuts, color, hair removal, lash tinting, and makeup are just a few of the services they provide.  I could go on and on but what you really want to know is what they’re offering our winner.  Indigo Salon will be doing a haircut, color and makeup application for our winner.

AmyGuidice

During the appointment at Indigo, Amy Guidice, of Amy Guidice Photography will be stopping by to share her artistic talents.  Amy is a fantastic photographer located in Shelburne, if you aren’t familiar with her work check out her FB page here.  She’ll be stopping by Indigo to take some pictures of our winner during the final makeover stages.  You’ll see more of her work once this is all complete.

Nika

Finally, we aren’t going to send our “new mama” home.  No, she needs to go out on the town with her special someone.  Nika Mediterranean Restaurant, on Church Street, will be the final stop of the day.  Nika is delicious and has amazing ambiance!  Lucky lady will enjoy a fine meal and maybe a glass of wine or two before returning home.

So, here are the finer details.  If you want to enter you MUST be available Saturday, September 28th.  All of these appointments are pre-booked, so if you win your appointments will start at 10am and finish around 5pm.  Dinner will follow.  Otherwise, enter the giveaway below and good luck!

  1. 2 boys, full time job, Spartan Race this past weekend, and the Leaf Peepers a week after the makeover! Let’s get this lady cleaned up and looking pretty for her race! Thanks–Jesse

  2. I would LOVE a Mommy Makeover! It has been over a year since I hav even had a haircut! Lol with that said, I am sure everyone who has entered deserves a day of pampering…good luck to everyone…even me 🙂

  3. What a thoughtful give away. Any mama is always in need of some good pampering and some time to herself. I think I would be most excited about the trip to Ecco and Indigio!

  4. As a mom of 2 young boys I have really enjoyed your blogs, posts, and Facebook page. Looking forward to more years to come. Congrats on the first year! Oh and of course fabulous giveaway!!

  5. As a mother of 2 young boys I have really enjoyed your blogs, posts and the community that is being built. Really great job over the last year and looking forward to more years to come! Oh and this giveaway is awesome!!

  6. What a wonderful contest. I would love to win this contest. 4 months ago we were blessed with our beautiful baby girl. What an amazing life changing event becoming parents.

  7. First of all, please let me say thanks for this awesome opportunity – it’s really nice of y’all to plan such a lovely day for a deserving Mom! I think every mother deserves a day of pampering, because mamas make the world go round! I’m the mother of a sweet 12 week old boy who is the absolute love and center of my life, but by necessity, mothers tend to stop taking care of themselves to focus on their loved ones. I know I could use a mani/pedi in the worst way – I’m lucky if I can make time to shave now and again! 😉

However, I know of a mommy that deserves a day of pampering even more than me – my cousin, who is the mother of a beautiful 3-year-old daughter, and who was birth mother to my beloved son. She has also been providing us breast milk since his birth, so she is his milk-mama too! She has recently returned to work after her maternity leave, and the rigors of work plus caring for her daughter make her the more deserving mommy. If I were to win, could I donate the prize to her? 🙂

  8. Regardless of going through a divorce in the past year, I’ve kept on living my life to the fullest. I’ve found myself again and couldn’t be any happier.
I’ve met a new special person in my life. He makes me feel like I’m the only woman on earth.
I’ve never had much of a sense of style. I try to be more “girly” for him but it seems I can never find the right hair style or the right clothes to wear. Jeans and t-shirt are getting old.
I need major help in this area and this is exactly what I need.
Hope to see you next Saturday 🙂

  9. I would LOVE this amazing opportunity! I’ve been working hard the last few months to get my family more healthy and have lost over 20 pounds myself! I would love to celebrate the new me with this makeover and a push to work off the remaining weight (half way there!!). I love that we all are happier, healthier and more energetic these days!

  10. For the last 3 years I have dedicated all my hours of living to my 3 year old and 15 month old as a stay at home mom. I have gotten up all night, breastfed for 14 months with each, changed diapers, wiped noses, made baby food…..you all know the drill. The list could go on for pages. Maybe it is time for a day with just me?

  11. I work full time and have 2 step sons and a 2 year old_ I do not believe Ihave had anything as wonderful as this would be for me, in 2 years!

  12. This sounds amazing! I can’t say I deserve a day of pampering, but I’ve never had one and would love it! It’s hard to find time for even a haircut at this point in my life.

  13. Sounds positively dreamy. Yes, I could certainly use some polishing up and the pampering sounds lovely, but even just strolling down Church St. on my own would be a small slice of heaven.

  14. I’m not sure I am any more deserving than any other mother of a makeover, I think we all work very hard! That said I would love a makeover!!

  15. And more of a funny story but a small “I DO deserve this” too….

My 2.5 year old just had her first hair cut (by me). She was SO upset that I wasn’t using clippers on her like I did on her big brother because that’s all she’s ever seen. That’s not b/c I get my hair cut alone, in fact she has been to every appt with me since she was born…. “every” appt meaning… 2?

  16. I deserve to win this prize so that I can gift it to my sister who is very deserving. As a juggling mom she is balancing full time work, 3 busy girls, a husband, and two dogs. She chauffeurs her girls to soccer, dance, gymnastics, baseball, basketball, play dates, and more. Not to mention that she volunteers for her church, visits our grandmothers as often as she can, and to top it all off… she works for our father! God help her! 🙂

  17. Hmmmm. Where to start…. Mother of three under age 6. Haven’t had a hair cut in over a year (and I did that one myself). I’ve had a pedicure once when I was 18. And the last time I bought a NEW anything was a dress for my Mother’s funeral in March. My husband and I were literally just trying to figure out the last time we had a date…… two years!! I think I’m due! Lol

  18. This is such a great idea! So many of us moms start out pampering ourselfs as women before children, but once we have children we put ourselves aside! In fact I get my hair done every few months but found myself canceling my appt yesterday as 3 small munchkins need all new winter gear! I’m sure all moms reading this can relate:-) who ever wins this I’m sure it will be well deserved!

  19. I’d like to say that being a SAHM of two little boys would be my reason for wanting a makeover. While it seems the time/funds/energy needed for “me” time are in shortage like most moms (seriously, I gave my last hair appointment to my sons who desperately needed cuts), my real reason would be that I own my own small business and am working hard to grow it into something larger and more full time. I would LOVE a day of pampering and treatments to help transform me outwardly and reflect the true professional in me as my business evolves and grows as well.

  20. “deserve”? How about “would sincerely appreciate”?! I just had three kids in 5 years, work part time and live far away from family. In other words, there is literally NO time for any sort of pampering. Ever. You can bet I’d loooove to win this one :). Thanks for the chance.

  21. I’m a momma to two precious boys (3 1/2 and 1 year old) and we moved to Vermont last December. To say that I need a makeover is a drastic understatement. I’ve taken to wearing drab, comfortable clothes to not draw attention to myself! I haven’t had a proper haircut in years and just recently received a pedicure for the first time in 8 years! I might be a little worn out and my brain is a bit kid soaked but I’m slowing coming back into my own as a woman. It is just taking me a bit longer than I thought!

  22. I would love to win this because I am always giving other people makeovers…yet, I have never had one myself!!! I would LOVE a day of pampering!

  23. First of all, this is awesome!
AIso, I would love for my mom to win this! She is a hardworking mom of five, including one new college student (me). The rest are all still in school with the youngest being seven years old. With five kids, I know it’s hard for her to get time to relax. She hasn’t been out to eat in months, hasn’t had a professional pedicure in ten years, and very rarely buys things for herself. She recently renewed her teaching license and is working full time to help with the finances. I know she would be absolutely ecstatic to win this! Thanks for the opportunity!

  24. Mommy of 1 year old, working full time for non-profit, in a new-to-us house that needs some tlc, and a husband in a new job! Busy, stressful year (just like everyone else!). Would love some pampering that I wouldn’t normally spend money on!!

  25. Every time I walk by Nika – I say, “WE HAVE TO GO THERE!!” I wouldn’t mind going with fresh new nails, new jeans and a hair-do either!

  26. I’m a stay at home mom by day and a breast cancer advocate by night going to committee meetings and fulfilling duties. That leaves little time for taking care of myself. I need something like this to make me slow down and breathe. Thanks so much for the opportunity!

  27. Every mamma certainly deserves a day of pampering! I am the mother of 15 month old twins, 2 teenaged step-sons, work full-time, volunteer for a few places – oh yeah AND I am in school part-time. ANY time to myself to relax is welcomed!

  28. You guys are so awesome. Thank you for all you do for us.

Even though I work full-time and am out of the house for a period of time every workday, I also don’t get any me time or any pamper time. Although I’d love to win for myself, I will be happy for whomever wins as we are a collection of very worthy mamas!!

  29. What a great contest and an amazing gesture! I think every mom needs a day to herself once and a while! Our son is three months old and my husband and I haven’t had a date night since he was born. After working mornings in my office and the afternoons from home, while caring for our son, I’m usually so tired at night that I go to bed at 8:30pm when our son goes to sleep! The dog hair tumbleweeds will have to wait 😉

  30. A makeover would feel great about now, I’m a SAHM and rarely get out of the house for pampering. I’m also expecting my second child, the first trimester has really kicked my butt with exhaustion. It could be the perfect pick-me-up!

  31. I could use this so much right now! I am due for a haircut, I have never had a pedicure, I am in desperate need of a make up tutorial, and I have been a SAHM for 7 years. Since I homeschool I never, ever get time to myself so a Saturday out sounds *amazing*.

  32. I’d love a makeover, and an evening out with just the husband… two kids, working full time an hour from home doesn’t leave much time for “me”… or much money for “me”!!! BUT, I wouldn’t change my life for the world, I love my family!! 🙂 a new do, and some new jeans would certainly make this mamma a refreshed mamma!!

  33. I don’t know how much i deserve a makeover, but I’d really like one! I’ve had a tough few months, i can’t remember the last time i was able to get myself pampered or had my hair cut, let alone go out with my husband!
