The Cat in the Hat @ St. Michael’s Playhouse:

From the moment his tall, red-and-white striped hat appears around the door, Sally and her brother know that the Cat in the Hat is the funniest, most mischievous cat they have ever met. The show begins at 12 pm and tickets cost $10. The playhouse is located in the McCarthy Arts Center on the campus of Saint Michael’s College.

There are additional shows on Saturday the 19th at 10 am and on Sunday the 20th at 10 am and 12 pm.

Root Beer Float Day @ ECHO:

Vermont’s BrewFest has partnered with ECHO to establish a Root Beer Float Day to coincide and complement this year’s Brew Fest! All families are welcome to visit ECHO on Saturday July 19, 2014, for Root Beer Float day.  

Enjoy root beer floats in a commemorative, color-changing ECHO cup on the Dealer.com Terrace overlooking beautiful Lake Champlain. While you are here, take the time to explore the live animals and hands-on exhibitions located throughout the aquarium and science center. Build fantastic structures with Keva Planks which is Echo’s current traveling exhibit. Inside the exhibit hall explore a 21’ vintage Airstream trailer turned into a mobile architecture classroom! In addition to Vermont’s own Rookies Root Beer and Island Ice Cream, ECHO’s award-winning caterer Sugarsnap, will fire up the grill with delectable farm-to-table picnic fare.

Circus-palooza @ Shelburne Museum:

The greatest show on earth comes to Shelburne Museum. Circus-palooza is a circus-themed extravaganza for the whole family. The event features aerial acts, carnival games and performances throughout the day. Under the Big Top there will be three shows by former Cirque du Soleil aerialists, contortionists and world renowned jugglers from Wunderle’s Big Top Adventures. Circus-palooza  starts at 10 a.m. and runs through 4 p.m.  The non-stop fun celebrates the museum’s circus collection, which features two miniature circuses – one of them 500-feet long – and rare, early circus posters.
